Take on a pivotal role as Manager, Indigenous and Community Partnerships with Alberta Sheriffs Police Service. This full-time position is designed for someone committed to strengthening Indigenous relationships and public safety. Located in either Edmonton or Calgary, this permanent role involves collaborating with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief, you will lead community engagement strategies and advise on Indigenous matters. Sustain relationships with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers
- Craft engagement strategies to address community priorities
- Offer strategic guidance on reconciliation and cultural protocols
- Ensure Indigenous perspectives shape policy and practice
- Act as ASPS representative in community engagements Four or more years in related fields like public safety or community development
- Robust understanding of Indigenous issues and impacts of colonization
- Experience advising senior leaders on sensitive topics
- Passion for cultural safety and community inclusion Drive meaningful partnerships and contribute to transformation in policing with ASPS.
