The Institute for Quantum Computing is seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) for the Fall 2026 academic term.

Must be enrolled in a PhD

Experiential Qualifications

•Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar instructional role is preferred.

•Must have completed the course titled 'Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics' with a final grad of 93 or above

•Experience supporting advanced undergraduate or graduate-level courses is an asset.

•Experience leading tutorials, laboratories, discussion sections, or other instructional activities.

•Experience holding office hours or providing direct student support.

•Experience grading assignments, examinations,



or other assessments.

•Experience supporting course administration, including learning management systems and course logistics.

•Experience developing instructional materials (e.g., tutorials, assignments, quizzes, examinations, and solution sets) is an asset

Course Specific Requirements

•Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to students.

•Strong instructional, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.

•Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.

•Ability to provide constructive and timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and other student work.

•Ability to support student learning through office hours, tutorials, laboratories, discussion sections, and other academic support activities.

•Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, teaching assistants, and other course staff.

•Proficiency with learning management systems and other instructional technologies.

•Strong attention to detail in grading, course administration, and instructional activities.

•Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when interacting with students and handling academic information.

Compensation: $51.53 / hour, plus 4% vacation pay
