Join a team that is helping shape the future of energy in Canada. As part of the Renewables PMO within WSP's Canada Energy group, you will lead multidisciplinary projects in the solar, wind, and energy storage sectors, supporting their delivery from strategic planning through project closeout.
As an Intermediate Project Manager, Renewable Energy, you will lead assignments of moderate to high complexity, ensure rigorous project governance, and build long-term, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. You will also contribute to the advancement of project management best practices across the organization while supporting the growth of a sector that is critical to the energy transition.
Reporting to the Discipline Manager, Project Management, this position can be based in Calgary, Montréal, Québec, or Sherbrooke, with the possibility of being affiliated with other WSP offices across Québec depending on the selected candidate.
Your Impact
Lead multidisciplinary projects in solar energy, wind energy, energy storage, and other renewable technologies, including feasibility studies, engineering design, and technical due diligence reviews;
Plan and manage assignments from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, schedule, cost, risk, and contractual requirements;
Coordinate project teams and engage discipline leads to deliver integrated, safe, and high-quality outcomes;
Act as the primary point of contact with clients for assigned projects, maintain clear communication, and contribute to the development of long-term business relationships;
Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and metrics, analyze variances, and implement required corrective actions;
Manage project costs, forecasting, invoicing, schedules, and change control, including the preparation and follow-up of change requests;
Identify, assess,
and manage project risks, ensuring timely escalation of issues requiring decisions;
Apply WSP project initiation, governance, quality assurance, and closeout processes, and contribute to their continuous improvement;
Participate in proposal preparation, effort estimation, execution strategy development, and business development activities;
Occasionally travel for meetings, site visits, technical assessments, or training.
The skills that set you apart
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; membership in a professional engineering association is considered an asset;
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects, with demonstrated autonomy in managing scope, cost, schedule, risk, and change;
Minimum 3 years of experience in the renewable energy market or a related energy sector (is a must);
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver results in a matrix workplace;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong team leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities;
Advanced proficiency in English is required;
French-English bilingualism is considered an asset to support participation in national initiatives and collaboration with both French-speaking and English-speaking colleagues and clients;
Robust analytical thinking, professional judgment, autonomy, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving;
PMP certification and proficiency with planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 are considered assets;
Availability for occasional travel.

Compensation
AB,BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $104 100– 138 000
MB & ON: $95 000 – 130 800
NB, NL, NS, PEI& QC: $94 100– 124 900
