About the Position
BAR is seeking an Intermediate Projects Engineer with oilfield pipeline experience to join our Projects Team in the Energy Division. The role involves completion of technical and project support activities on assigned projects, providing support to senior team members while reporting to the Projects Manager.
- Participate in project design problem solving within the team.
- Confer with clients and conduct research to determine project requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals including cost estimates, project schedules, and project designs.
- Provide project management support and coordinate all engineering work with the various departments involved with the project.
- Ensure designs conform to standards, specifications, and client requirements.
- Provide technical input into existing and emerging business streams.
- Ensure that project deliverables are met and effectively manage change throughout the duration of the projects.
- Provide peer review support for engineering work and quality control checks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3–4 years of engineering experience, and registration or eligibility for registration with APEGS or APEGA. Experience in pipeline design and construction is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience working in oil and gas or energy infrastructure environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with CSA Z662 and other relevant pipeline codes is considered an asset.
- Solid time‑management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and an eagerness to learn.
- Valid driver's licence with clean drivers abstract.
