Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, and lighting in underground and surface mining environments. Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Perform preventative maintenance and schedule regular inspections on electrical components and systems.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for installation and repair work. Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using appropriate testing devices and tools. Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor apprentices or junior electricians as needed. Industrial, Utility and Substation experience is an asset.
Experience with high voltage electrical equipment, cable management and medium/high voltage terminations. Ability to thrive in a minimal supervision environment Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise, temperature, and air quality; Physical fitness test and drug and alcohol test will be required.
