Role Description This full-time remote Junior Software Engineer role focuses on building and maintaining software components that support Somi AI’s products and internal tools. Day-to-day activities include implementing back-end features, writing clean and efficient code, fixing bugs, and collaborating with senior engineers on design and architecture decisions.

The role involves participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and assisting in testing and deployment processes.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in Computer Science and Software Development, including understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software lifecycle.
- Skills in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one up-to-date language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, web frameworks, and working with databases.
- Ability to read and write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively in code reviews and team discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and basic software testing practices; exposure to cloud platforms or CI/CD tools is a plus.
- Curiosity about AI and machine learning, willingness to learn new technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a remote environment.
