We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and efficient Kennel Attendant to join our team at our dog & cat boarding and breeding facility on weekend mornings.

Providing exceptional animal care starts with maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe environment, so cleaning and facility care are a major part of this position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, works efficiently, has excellent attention to detail, and understands the important role proper sanitation plays in the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

This is an active, hands-on position that involves daily cleaning of kennels, floors, bedding, dishes, outdoor areas and other spaces used by the dogs. Applicants should be comfortable with all aspects of animal-related cleaning and willing to tackle whatever needs to be done.

Previous qualified cleaning, kennel, veterinary, farm, animal-care, housekeeping or similar hands-on experience would be a strong asset.

Duties

- Thoroughly clean and sanitize rooms and animal areas each day
- Clean up everyday animal messes and maintain a consistently sanitary environment
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and disinfect floors and surfaces
- Wash and sanitize food and water bowls, rooms and animal-care equipment
- Wash, dry, fold and replace bedding and towels
- Clean and maintain outdoor runs and exercise areas




- Feed and provide fresh water to dogs and cats according to individual instructions
- Administer medications when required and according to instructions
- Monitor dogs and cats for changes in health, behaviour, appetite or bathroom habits and report concerns promptly
- Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Restock cleaning supplies, food and other kennel necessities

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate:
- Has strong cleaning skills and a high standard for cleanliness
- Has excellent attention to detail and notices what needs to be done
- Is physically capable of bending, kneeling, scrubbing, lifting, carrying and being on their feet for extended periods
- Can safely lift and move supplies, equipment, food bags and other items
- Is dependable, punctual and able to work independently
- Can follow detailed cleaning and animal-care instructions
- Works well as part of a team
- Is comfortable around dogs and cats of various sizes and breeds
- Has a genuine love of animals and understands that excellent animal care includes maintaining an exceptionally clean environment
- Is available to works weekends

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 12.0 per week
