Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care for our animals and ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. This role is vital in supporting the daily operations of our kennel facility, assisting with animal care, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, loves working with animals, and is capable of handling physical tasks with attention to detail independently.

This is a part time position with hours that may increase during peak season. Candidates should have flexible availability and understand that additional hours may be available when kennel bookings are higher.

Duties

- Assist with feeding, watering, and monitoring the health of animals in the kennel
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain hygiene standards
- Exercise and socialize animals to promote their well-being
- Assist with receiving and discharges animals during pickup or drop off
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or animals as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, and questions from pet owners or visitors
- Maintains accurate records of animal care activities and observations
- Ensure safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents or injuries

Qualifications

- Prior experience in animal care or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided




- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and pet owners
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Reliable transportation to arrive on time for scheduled shifts
