Duties

- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to streamline cooking processes
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from head chefs or kitchen managers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulations
- Serve food to customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring high-quality presentation and service standards
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying staff of low stock items
- Support meal assembly during busy service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders

Employment Requirements

Experience:





- Previous experience in food service or Indian restaurant environments is preferred
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry

Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is required to communicate effectively with guests and kitchen staff.

Core Skills:

- Spice & Ingredient Familiarity: Comfort identifying common Indian spices, herbs, and prep techniques.
- Prep Efficiency: Strong knife skills for high-volume aromatic chopping and batch preparation.
- Teamwork and Shift: Clear communication and synergy with cooks in a quick-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm for working as part of a team in a lively culinary environment
- Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 40–50 lbs (e.g., bulk flour/rice bags)
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
