B.S.L. Machine Ltd a is leading manufacturer in steel component design, fabrication and repairs including a specialty in gearing and gearbox remanufacturing.

B.S.L. has been in the machining industry since 1965, primarily serving industrial applications in the Edmonton area. We are currently recruiting for a Machine Shop Purchaser, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position plays a key role in the continued success of the manufacturing staff. You will help build relations with existing vendors, secure new opportunities and be involved in overall expense management.

Responsibilities

- Supervise, organize & oversee all aspects of existing tool room
- Contact vendors, getting quotes, order goods and services as needed
- Maintain inventory control
- Ensuring a clean and organized workspace
- Meeting with vendors to assist in improving on pricing, work flow and better tooling technologies




- Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing paperwork & assisting with front office tasks

Qualifications:
- Experience in the machining industry is ideal, with a background in metal components
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings accurately
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Quickbooks
- Self motivated with strong ability to multitask, prioritize and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Prerequisites:
- Previous purchasing experience in the same or similar trade

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
