Summary
The Billing Manager position will lead the billing team for a segment of the Bell Business Markets customer base, focusing on process improvement, cost reduction, and employee and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist continuous improvement activities relating to billing that drive improved timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and discipline to achieve departmental goals.
- Support the team with conflict resolution related to billing requests and assure timely resolution.
- Establish and monitor key metric targets and help the team exceed monthly billing goals.
- Build business relationships with internal customers to minimize billing errors and mitigate risk while supporting sales growth.
- Partner with Sales and extended account teams to coordinate actions for customers according to corporate strategy.
- Analyze large and complex data sets to support billing decisions.
- Demonstrate initiative, leadership, and continuous learning.
- Make decisions and delegate responsibilities.
- Learn quickly and juggle multiple projects and priorities.
- Develop external customer relationships to facilitate dispute and billing issue resolution.
- Monitor billing performance against quality and productivity standards, completing monthly trends.
- Ensure billing and credit policies are adhered to and updated to mitigate financial risk.
- Oversee the credit adjudication process.
- Develop, motivate, and coach staff to meet departmental performance goals while encouraging growth and engagement.
- Participate in billing team initiatives.
Critical Qualifications
- Experience managing invoicing operations with a team of 10 or more.
- 3–5 years of data‑driven experience in related domains.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong time‑management and multitasking ability.
- Change‑agent mindset with vision and execution expertise.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (French required for Quebec positions).
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecommunications background with knowledge of Bell billing systems.
- Knowledge of Bell Canada products and services (IP, broadband, ATM, legacy services, etc.).
