Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Competition Teacher to inspire students with a passion for mathematics and problem-solving. In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, coach students for various math competitions, and foster a love for learning through energetic teaching methods. Your energy and expertise will motivate students to develop critical thinking skills, excel in math challenges, and build confidence in their abilities.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver stimulating lesson plans focused on advanced math concepts, problem-solving strategies, and competition preparation
- Coach students individually or in groups to enhance their skills and confidence for local, regional, or national math competitions
- Prepare students for CEMC, AMC, Math League, Math Kangaroo, and other competitions.
- Apply inquiry-based, project-based, flipped,



and collaborative learning strategies.
- Maintain an inclusive, inquiry-driven environment that encourages academic risk-taking.
- Co-design cross-curricular STEM projects with colleagues.
- Use formative/summative data to differentiate instruction and report progress to the supervisor.
- Support students with STEM university applications and career planning.

Skills

- Proven experience working with children or youth in an educational or tutoring setting
- Strong background in mathematics, including problem-solving techniques used in competitions
- Effective teaching skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels
- Classroom experience that demonstrates organizational skills and classroom management abilities

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 – 8.0 per week
