ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for designing work areas related to long-hole drilling and blasting activities. They also conduct field follow-ups, prepare plans, compile data, and participate in decision‑making.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor various work areas related to drilling and blasting
- Design, review, and approve drilling and blasting plans and specifications
- Participate in the design process of mining stopes
- Promote best practices in drilling and blasting to control dilution and maximize ore recovery
- Complete performance back-analyses of mining stopes
- Conduct field visits for quality control of drilling and long-hole loading
- Lead continuous improvement projects in drilling and blasting
- Comply with, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, especially regarding health and safety
- Perform any other related tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in an underground mine
- Practical experience in drilling and blasting is considered an asset
- Completion of mining modules 1 to 5 and 7
- Good computer skills, including Deswik and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
