Overview

We are seeking a Trade Finance Specialist – Letter of Credit & SBLC within a major corporate banking operations hub. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a diverse portfolio, including the issuance, confirmation, and advising of Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Commercial Letters of Credit (Import/Export).

Key Responsibilities

- Transaction Management: Execute and process complex Letter of Credit transactions, ensuring 100% compliance with international standards (UCP 600, ISP 98) and internal risk procedures.
- Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders on technical aspects and best practices regarding trade instruments.
- Data & Systems: Utilize specialized banking software and SWIFT messaging to prepare documentation,



ensuring accurate recording of all transactions for accounting and reporting purposes.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively manage pending inquiries, identify document discrepancies, and follow up with all relevant parties until final payment and closure.
- Financial Integrity: Oversee the billing and reconciliation process, ensuring accurate invoicing, payment processing (including FX contracts where necessary), and account reconciliation.

Candidate Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in Trade Finance, specifically focused on SBLCs and Commercial Letters of Credit.
- Technical Mastery: Thorough understanding of UCP 600, ISP 98, and URDG 758.
- Compliance: Robust knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including OFAC, international sanctions, and anti-boycott regulations.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (A-levels / IB) at minimum.

- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Location: MONTREAL DOWNTOWN
- Hybrid Setup: Up to 2 days per week remote, after the first 3 months
