Job Title: Server – Ted’s Bar and Grill

Status: Seasonal (Winter)

Reports to: Front of House Manager / Shift Supervisor

Hourly wage: $18.75

Job Summary:

Love the idea of working where the air is fresh, the views are unreal, and your “commute” includes snow-capped peaks? At Mount Washington Alpine Resort, you can spend your days surrounded by adventure — and get paid for it.

As a Server at Ted’s Pub, you’ll be at the heart of the après-ski experience, welcoming guests straight off the mountain who are ready to relax and enjoy great food, drinks, and atmosphere.

You’ll be responsible for managing every aspect of your section — from taking orders and running food and drinks to keeping tables spotless, organized, and inviting. Cleanliness and customer service are top priorities. If you’re outgoing, attentive, and enjoy working in a fast-paced pub environment, this is a outstanding opportunity to join the Mount Washington Alpine Resort food and beverage team.

Role Responsibilities:

- Greeting skiers, snowboarders, and resort guests with energy and warmth
- Creating a welcoming and enjoyable après-ski experience for guests
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders
- Offering recommendations on menu items, daily features, and specials
- Delivering food and drinks promptly and accurately
- Maintaining full responsibility for assigned tables and sections
- Clearing, cleaning, resetting, and restocking tables throughout service
- Ensuring tables and service areas remain clean, organized, and guest-ready always
- Anticipating guest needs and providing attentive service from start to finish
- Handling guest payments and operating the POS system accurately and efficiently

- Maintaining strong knowledge of the pub menu, events, mountain activities, and other resort departments
- Answering guest questions and helping them make the most of their Mount Washington Alpine Resort experience
- Communicating effectively with bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, and supervisors
- Supporting smooth service flow during busy periods
- Following all health, safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards
- Pitching in wherever needed — because teamwork makes the mountain run smoothly
- Upholding high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism

Why Mount Washington:

- A FREE Seasons Pass for you and family passes
- Bonuses for referring new staff
- Daily staff shuttle bus from town and the base for easy transportation
- On-the-job training and opportunities to develop your serving and hospitality skills
- Resort discounts, including retail, rentals, lessons, and food
- The chance to work in a fun, fast-paced mountain environment
- The chance to gain valuable experience in resort food and beverage operations and après-ski service

Resort Conditions: Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same — and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountaintop venues accessible only by chairlift.

Be prepared to embrace the elements, whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain.

Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!

Qualifications:

- Previous serving experience in a busy pub or restaurant is an asset
- Seasonal, resort, or high-energy hospitality experience would be an asset
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Outgoing, confident, friendly, and approachable with guests from around the world
- Pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready section
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Serving It Right certification, or an equivalent alcohol service certification, required
- Ability to operate a POS system and handle payments accurately
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to remain on your feet and move quickly during long shifts in a high-volume workplace
- Comfortable carrying trays, multiple drinks, and plates of food
- Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs of cases, supplies, or equipment
- Able to perform frequent walking, bending, reaching, carrying, clearing, cleaning, and resetting tasks
- Ability to safely move through a busy pub and dining area during service
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods
