Senior Network Security Architect
Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Security Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise network security solutions across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in network security architecture, secure infrastructure design, threat protection, and security governance while partnering with infrastructure, cloud, security, and architecture teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage enterprise network security controls, including firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, VPNs, DNS/web security, and related security technologies.
- Provide security architecture, governance, and design guidance focused on network segmentation, zoning, zero trust, and secure network design.
- Review and approve firewall rules, network architectures, security configurations, and related technical designs.
- Design and secure hybrid cloud environments, including virtual networks, network security controls, firewalls, application gateways, identity and access management, privileged access management, conditional access, and role-based access control.
- Troubleshoot and investigate network security incidents, threats, and anomalies, including traffic analysis and packet-level investigations.
- Lead or support incident response, vulnerability remediation, penetration testing, and security validation activities.
- Participate in architecture reviews and serve as a network security subject matter expert and trusted advisor to technical and business stakeholders.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning from a network security perspective.
- Develop and maintain network security architecture, standards, procedures, and operational documentation.
- Evaluate emerging security technologies, automation, orchestration, and advanced threat detection capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network and security teams as required.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 8+ years in network security engineering, architecture, operations, firewall engineering, or secure network design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent skilled experience.
- Strong enterprise experience with next-generation firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, DNS/web security, network security controls, and network segmentation.
- Strong understanding of networking, routing, switching, traffic analysis, threat detection, and incident response.
- Experience with cloud networking and cloud security in hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, NDR, EDR, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
- Strong understanding of load balancing and secure traffic flow.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, cloud, security, architecture, and other technical teams.
Certifications
- Must hold at least one active professional or expert-level certification such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCIE Security, CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC/JNCIE-SEC, CCSE, Palo Alto Networks certifications, Microsoft Azure Security/Network/Architecture certifications, or an equivalent industry-recognized certification.
Location & Schedule
- Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be available depending on business requirements.
- Must be available during standard business hours and able to collaborate across distributed teams.
- Occasional travel may be required based on project or business needs.
