Role Description
Reporting to the President and working alongside the Vice President, Circles, the Vice President of Operations is a member of the executive leadership team for Lean In Montreal. This position provides leadership, direction and support to both the President and the Events team and ensures effective collaboration across the organization in these areas to deliver on the strategic plan.
The Vice-President, Operations must maintain a pulse on the initiatives that are being carried out by the network as a whole, and lead the team to roll-out all necessary steps for events, including the moving parts of each event (registrations, AV, promoting marketing and leading the administration required for each event).
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to roll-out all necessary steps for events, including the moving parts of each event (registrations, AV, promoting marketing and leading the administration required for each event).
- Provide inspirational leadership, direction and support to the Executive Team and the Events team, meeting with team members as needed to stay informed of any initiatives and to bring any challenges or issues to the attention of the executive leadership team.
- Provide inspirational leadership, support, and input into annual strategic planning initiatives and the development of the annual strategic plan, working closely with the President and Vice-President, Circles.
- Cultivate a culture of inclusion where all volunteers can contribute to build their confidence and expertise.
- Provide leadership in identifying priorities and objectives, directing teams, supporting committees and ensuring the Lean In purpose is fulfilled.
- Assist with building effective collaboration across the organization to support the Events and Circles teams to ensure the network can deliver on its’ strategic plan by ensuring the development of an implementation plan for Events and Circles that is well-integrated with the other teams outlining the initiatives, including targets and metrics, and associated schedule to deliver the shared goals and objectives identified in the Strategic Plan as well as outlining what support, resources and funding will be required for implementation.
Desired Qualifications
- A conviction and dedication to the development of female leaders in Montreal.
- A demonstrated passion to cultivate community, leadership and support for women to achieve their ambitions and work to create an equal world.
- Previous experience building or growing non-profit organizations is an asset.
- Previous experience as a board member of a non-profit organization(s) an asset.
Time Commitment
- 8-10 hours per month, including monthly team meetings, and meetings with other network VP of Operations, as required.
- Network events (required to attend at least four every year)
