Impact the lives of northern residents as a Community Health Nurse with Tlicho Community Services Agency at Whati. Offer culturally responsive healthcare and promote wellness within the community. As a Community Health Nurse, you'll serve a vital role at the Whati Health Centre, where you will engage with a vibrant population focused on holistic and culturally-integrated health services.
Your responsibilities will include providing nursing care across various programs while fostering health awareness and promoting self-care. Participate in emergency care initiatives and collaborate with other health providers to develop impactful health strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive community health programs, including immunizations
- Deliver direct nursing care tailored to client needs
- Support educational initiatives promoting health and self-care
- Uphold high standards of nursing practice in the community
- Engage in emergency response and medevacs when necessary
Requirements:
- Degree in Nursing and relevant registration in Northwest Territories or Nunavut
- At least two years nursing experience in emergency or critical care
- IAP course completion or equivalent preferred, BTLS a bonus
- Knowledge of community health principles and emergency procedures
- Certification maintenance including CPR and hazardous materials training
