Faculty - Sheet Metal Worker Education Institute of Skilled Trades Term Full-time Position: From Industry Expert to Instructor - Help Train the Next Generation of Skilled Trades Workers Are you an experienced Sheet Metal Worker looking for a new challenge; one that keeps you connected to the trade you love, while offering more balance, stability, and long-term security?

Interprovincial Red

Seal certification in Sheet Metal Worker A minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent journeyperson experience as a Sheet Metal Worker Strong technical knowledge in layout,



blueprint interpretation, welding, brakes, shears, rollers and other metal forming tools/equipment Comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook Previous teaching experience or related experience in the delivery of educational program or training adults would be an asset, but not required. If you've coached apprentices, trained coworkers, or shared your knowledge on the shop floor, you already have valuable experience to build on.

NOTE: Two years of your training will be counted towards the educational requirements and cannot be included as part of your occupational experience. As part of the Institute of Skilled Trades faculty team in the Sheet Metal Worker program, you will: Deliver theoretical and hands on practical shop training along with classroom instruction Help students build the skills employers are looking for Participate in student advising, curriculum development, program promotion, committee work, and work placement support This role combines shop instruction with modern teaching tools and blended learning approaches, including in-class, online, and off-site instruction, as well as occasional evening and weekend sessions. As a condition of employment, you are required to provide proof of a valid Red Seal certification, including your Red Seal number for verification with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, prior to your start date. As a condition of employment, Faculty at NSCC must complete a part-time adult education program delivered by NSCC.

This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status, all probationary, full or part-time Faculty of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Faculty whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
