Saskatchewan Patient Transfer Services (SPTS) is an industry leader, proudly serving the citizens of western Canada since June 2018. Based in Regina & Saskatoon, operating 24/7 with no geographical boundaries and responding to over 5,000 calls for service annually, SPTS is a steady urban/rural mixed service. SPTS utilizes a well-maintained, clean and modern fleet of Patient Transfer Units, providing bedside-to-bedside stretcher transportation services to non-acute patients in a professional, safe and respectful environment.

SPTS is responsible for transferring patients safely between hospitals, to and from medical appointments, home from hospital etc.
SPTS is seeking to add self-motivated, energetic, professional, compassionate individuals looking to gain experience in the health care industry working as a Patient Transfer Specialist for the provincial stretcher transfer service. We have a variety of staff backgrounds, including those with training and experience as First Responders, Fire Fighters, PCPs, and ACPs.
If you meet the following criteria, you may qualify to join our team:
- Minimum age of 18 with completion of High School
- Ability to complete First Responder training upon hire, with preference given to current students or graduated PCPs and ACPs (SPTS follows a First Responder pay scale); do not need to be SCoP registered or actively licensed professionally to apply with our service
- Valid Class 4 Driver’s License (or ability to obtain a Class 4 Driver’s License upon hiring)
- Driver’s Abstract clear of uninsurable infractions (loss of license, DUI, stunting, distracted driving, etc)
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Physically fit with the ability to routinely lift 300+ pounds on a manual stretcher and/or stair chair up and down stairs with a partner (training provided in-house for TLR and safe operation of a stretcher)
- Annual Healthcare Provider CPR certification (SPTS provides CPR training)
- Immunizations as per SHA standards (including Covid-19 vaccination)
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days, nights and weekends) with paid on-call hours
- Must have a positive, pleasant, approachable attitude while transporting and interacting with patients
