OVERVIEW
Personal Support Worker needed (24 to 40 hours a week until the end of 2026 while a member of the care-giving team is away , with a possibility to extend working into 2027 and join the care-giving team of three others. Must be reliable, punctual and motivated.
DUTIES The client is a woman aged 74 with advanced Alzheimer’s living in a private house with her care partner at Eglinton Ave. W. and Royal York Rd. in Etobicoke.
The work involves lifting, positioning and transferring, and providing personal care for all activities of daily living including feeding, bathing, grooming and dressing, as well as meal preparation.
The schedule is to be mutually agreed on with the existing 3 person care-giving team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in caring for someone with dementia, physical disabilities, and limited mobility is preferable.
Good ability to communicate in English is a must. Speaking Farsi may be a plus.
The pay would be up to $21 an hour gross, depending on qualifications and experience,
paid net twice a month against written and signed time sheets. This is not a cash position.
Must be eligible to work in the health sector in Canada by work permit, permanent residence, or citizenship. Need a valid Canadian government issued ID (Ontario ID, Driver's License, Health card, Passport, PR card, Work Permit).
A current CPR/ First Aid certificate, police vulnerable sector reference check, personal service provider insurance, and being vaccinated against Covid-19 are requirements. Having a car or living in the area would be convenient. Require 2 professional references.
