This assignment works day shift and follows a 12-month schedule . Maintains, installs, repairs and tests a variety of plumbing, heating, and disposal systems. Inspects and maintains fire protection systems.

May be required to perform backflow testing and repair. Lays out, reads and interprets plans, drawings and specifications of district buildings and facilities in accordance with appropriate by-laws and codes. Estimates time, materials and equipment needed to complete work assignments.





Inspects facilities on a regular basis for preventative maintenance. Performs capital works projects as assigned.

Trades

Qualification (TQ) Certificate in Plumbing plus two (2) years' experience in a maintenance setting after completion of the TQ. Hold and maintain a Gasfitter Class 'B' Contractor's License along with the ASTTBC Fire Protection Technician Certification. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously with staff, students, parents, contractors and outside agencies.
