Role Description The Postdoctoral Researcher will be a full-time, on-site position based in Truro, NS, focused on advancing research within organic horticulture-based disciplines. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, preparing manuscripts/book chapters/book for peer-reviewed publication, and contributing to grant proposals and research reports. The role involves collaborating closely with faculty, graduate students, and research staff, participating in regular group meetings, and presenting findings at seminars and conferences.

Researcher may also support teaching activities,



such as mentoring students in the laboratory, assisting with course delivery, and contributing to the academic life of the department.

Qualifications

- Strong Laboratory Skills and hands-on experience in experimental setups, instrumentation, and safety procedures.
- Demonstrated Research expertise in organic horticulture (vegetables and/or fruits), including project design, literature review, and scholarly publication.
- Solid background in organic horticulture with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to experimental and applied problems.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis, including statistical methods, modeling, and use of relevant software tools.
- Teaching and mentoring abilities, with experience supporting students in laboratory and classroom settings.
- Completed PhD in Agriculture or a closely related field, awarded within the last several years.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for publications, presentations, and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities.
- Track record of conference presentations, grant contributions, or cooperative research projects is beneficial.
