Hours: Rotating days and nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.

Duties Of Position
Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Primary Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) for Primary Care Paramedics, Paramedic Association of New Brunswick registration requirements, and Ambulance NB policies, procedures and protocols.
Our paramedics provide medical support to patients on scene and en route to hospitals. Given the unpredictability of clinical presentations in the field, they are skilled in emergency techniques and well‑versed in various medical treatments.
If you are a new graduate from a post‑secondary program in paramedicine or have working experience outside the province of New Brunswick, ANB has a standardized process for selecting top candidates to fill Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) positions. The Selection Process consists of a comprehensive assessment conducted several times a year.
Required Qualifications
- Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit)
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team and be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record
- High regard for confidentiality and patient safety
- Completed a Primary Care Paramedic program/course of over six months (if you do not have one and are interested in this career, please consult the list of paramedic programs in Atlantic Canada)
- Registered, active Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's Licence (or equivalent)
Additional Requirements For Your Application
- Current Resume and Cover Letter
- A copy of your PCP diploma from an accredited institution
- Proof of current registration with Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to working as a paramedic within the last 12 months
- Proof of valid CPR level C certification issued in the last 12 months
- Photocopy of front and back of valid Class 4 driver’s license (or equivalent) with minimum one year driving experience
- Driver's abstract; issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid Driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP) issued within the last three years
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check; issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization Record (Tetanus Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB Skin Test) up to date within the last 10 years where applicable
- Valid Official Language Assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post‑secondary Education, Training and Labour
- Additional training and/or education is highly valued.
