Role Description The Procurement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ontario, responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities to support HummingBird’s operations and growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and processing purchase orders, coordinating with internal stakeholders to understand needs, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services.
The role involves evaluating and onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing,
and maintaining strong vendor relationships while adhering to company policies and compliance standards.
The Procurement
Specialist will analyze procurement data, monitor spend, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and contribute to continuous process improvements. Collaboration with finance, operations, and product teams is key to ensuring that all procurement activities align with budget, quality, and delivery expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong procurement and purchasing skills, including hands-on experience with procurement processes and Purchase Orders.
- Experience in Supplier Evaluation, vendor selection, and ongoing performance management.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation, including terms, pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation.
- Solid Analytical Skills for spend analysis, benchmarking, and data-driven decision-making.
- Understanding of procurement best practices, compliance requirements, and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience working with ERP or procurement systems and proficiency in MS Excel or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, prioritize multiple requests, and deliver in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting.
