Produce Buyer & Delivery Driver — Full time

JJ Fresh Produce is looking for a reliable, honest, and hardworking Produce Buyer & Delivery Driver to join our growing team.

This is a 4-day-per-week full-time position working Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.

Ontario Food Terminal & Mississauga, Brampton & Hamilton delivery routes

Schedule

Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & FridayEarly morning starts — exact hours may vary depending on orders and workload.

Pay

Starting at $18/hour, depending on experience and knowledge of produce.

- 1 day of free training/assessment to see if the position is a good fit for both sides.
- After successfully completing the first day, 3 days of paid on-the-job training will be provided.
- Payment available by company/corporate cheque.

Your Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and entering customer orders the night before or early morning.
- Determining which vendors have the best quality, availability and pricing.
- Going to the Ontario Food Terminal to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Inspecting produce for quality before purchasing.
- Loading and organizing products safely in the delivery vehicle.
- Delivering orders to restaurants and customers throughout the Mississuaga, Brampton & Hamilton
- Communicating professionally with vendors and customers.
- Building good relationships with suppliers.
- Keeping track of purchases and orders.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and work area.
- Following company procedures and handling company products and money responsibly.

- Hardworking and physically capable of lifting and moving produce boxes
- Comfortable working independently
- Organized and able to make quick decisions
- Has some knowledge of fruits and vegetables/produce — experience is an asset
- Comfortable dealing with vendors and restaurant customers
- Has a positive and respectful attitude toward the company and coworkers
- Willing to learn and take responsibility

Previous produce, grocery, warehouse, food-service or delivery experience is an asset, but training will be provided to the right candidate.

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence
- Comfortable driving a delivery vehicle
- Reliable transportation to the Ontario Food Terminal for early morning shifts
- Ability to lift and carry produce boxes
- Ability to work all four scheduled days consistently
- Good communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
