Overview of the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical and PLC systems in the plant.

Schedule

12 hour Rotation – 6 – 6 (Weekdays, days, nights, and weekends)

Salary

$48.12 per hour + Trade Premium $1/hr, Shift Premium for hours worked from 6pm–6am $1.20/hr

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switch meters, regulators and reactors.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Troubleshoot,



maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- Maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Communicate on a constant basis with plant personnel.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S;, WCB, Food Safety and other company regulations and procedures.

Qualifications

- Electrician with a journeyperson ticket/license or certificate of qualification.
- Excited and willing to work day & night shift (6-6) including weekends.
- Proven hands‑on experience within food industry or high‑speed packaging plant (preferred).
- Electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Able to work collaboratively with all departments.
- Highly motivated initiator, able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Effective communication skills, able to complete computer‑based workorders.
