Residential Cleaner – Ajax, Ontario

Fresh & Shiny Cleaning Services is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Residential Cleaner to join our growing team in Ajax, Ontario.

This is a part-time, casual employee position with variable hours based on client bookings. We are looking for someone who takes pride in high-quality work, is willing to learn, and understands that qualified cleaning requires careful attention to detail.

Previous professional cleaning experience is an asset, but it is not required. Training is provided.

Pay

$20.00–$25.90 per hour, based on previous experience, demonstrated cleaning skills, quality of work, reliability, training completed, and the level of cleaning services the employee is qualified to perform.

Applicants without previous professional cleaning experience may start at $20.00 per hour.

Employees may progress to higher hourly rates as they demonstrate consistent quality, attention to detail, independence, reliability, knowledge of Fresh & Shiny procedures, and competency in more advanced cleaning services.

Deep Cleaning and Heavy Restoration Cleaning assignments and higher pay levels are reserved for employees who have demonstrated the required skills, training, judgment, and Fresh & Shiny quality standards.

Schedule

- Part-time / Casual
- Approximately 3–8 hours per week to start
- Hours vary depending on available client bookings
- Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week
- Additional hours may become available as our client base grows
- Flexible availability is an asset
- Work is primarily performed at client homes in Ajax
- Occasional nearby assignments may be offered based on employee availability

Fresh & Shiny is growing, and our goal is to increase available hours as additional clients and recurring bookings are added in each service area. Whenever possible, employees are assigned work within or near their primary service area to reduce unnecessary travel.

Responsibilities

- Perform detailed residential cleaning according to the client's approved scope of work
- Dust, vacuum, mop, clean, sanitize, and detail residential areas as assigned
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, floors, fixtures, surfaces, and other selected areas
- Pay close attention to corners, edges, baseboards, fixtures, glass, mirrors, floors, and finishing details
- Ensure completed surfaces are free from visible dirt, residue, streaks,



haze, and missed areas
- Follow Fresh & Shiny cleaning procedures, service standards, and safety practices
- Use cleaning products, microfiber systems, tools, vacuums, steamers, and other equipment correctly
- Review completed work before leaving the client's home
- Respect clients' homes, belongings, privacy, and property
- Arrive on time and communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Report any concerns, damage, safety issues, or unusual conditions to Fresh & Shiny management
- Work independently or as part of a cleaning team depending on the assignment

Employees are expected to complete assigned areas thoroughly. Quality is not measured only by how quickly a cleaning is completed.

Our standard requires careful attention to:

- Corners and edges
- Visible dust and buildup
- Streak-free mirrors, glass, and finished surfaces
- Proper floor finishing
- Detailed bathroom and kitchen cleaning
- Areas included in the client's approved scope
- Final inspection before leaving the property

Employees must be willing to learn and consistently follow Fresh & Shiny's professional cleaning standards.

Requirements

- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn Fresh & Shiny cleaning procedures
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Able to perform physically demanding residential cleaning work, including standing, bending, reaching, lifting cleaning equipment, and working for several hours
- Reliable transportation to reach scheduled client homes in Ajax
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, respectful, and trustworthy

Previous residential cleaning experience is preferred but not required. A driver's licence or personal vehicle is not required,



provided the employee has reliable transportation and can arrive at scheduled client locations on time.

As Fresh & Shiny continues to grow, employees who consistently demonstrate excellent quality, reliability, professionalism, and leadership may have opportunities for increased hours, higher-level cleaning assignments, and future advancement.

Strong-performing employees may eventually have opportunities to advance into Lead Cleaner or City Representative positions as Fresh & Shiny expands throughout Durham Region.

Employment & Payroll

This is an employee position, not an independent contractor or cash position.

Employees are paid through payroll on a bi-weekly schedule.

Applicable statutory payroll deductions and employer obligations are handled in accordance with Canadian and Ontario employment requirements.

Fresh & Shiny provides the professional cleaning products, supplies, and equipment required for assigned services.
