Role Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage core accounting functions, with a focus on our OTC and Payments businesses across the U.S., Canada, and the Holding Co., while also supporting accounting for crypto/digital asset transactions. This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable working across both traditional GAAP-based accounting and emerging crypto-native accounting tools and standards. This role offers a clear growth path to Controller as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Oversee and support accounting activities for our OTC and Payments businesses, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and coordination with Canadian parent-company reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review financial statements, intercompany transactions, and consolidations between the Canadian parent entity and U.S. and other subsidiaries.




- Manage accounting for digital assets/cryptocurrency transactions, including cost-basis tracking, wallet reconciliations, and gain/loss reporting.
- Utilize crypto accounting platforms (e.g., Cryptoworth, Tokenbooks, Utila) alongside QuickBooks to maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records.
- Assist with tax filings, remittances, and coordination with external accountants/auditors in both Canada and the U.S.
- Support internal controls, policies, and process improvements as the finance function matures.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams (Compliance, Operations) to ensure accurate financial treatment of payment flows and stablecoin-related transactions.
- Support audit preparation and respond to auditor/regulator inquiries as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation (or in progress) or Foreign professional qualification preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including exposure to multi-entity/cross-border structures (Canada–U.S. preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Canadian accounting standards, IFRS etc.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar platforms required.
- Familiarity with Forex/crypto/digital asset accounting concepts and tools such as Cryptoworth , Utila , or similar platforms is strongly preferred.




- Understanding of cryptocurrency, stablecoins, or blockchain-based payment flows is a strong asset.
- Strong Excel skills and general comfort with financial systems and automation tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in an evolving and very fast-paced startup environment.
