An opportunity exists for a Financial Analyst with strong multi-tasking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
As a key member of the Financial Services team and business partner with real estate, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting related to Stantec’s worldwide real estate and equipment lease activities. He/she will work closely with Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Accounts Payable and other internal departments as well as with external service providers, including landlords. This is a permanent position in the Edmonton office.
Reviewing lease and sublease agreements to assess IFRS accounting implications.
Updating
CoStar leases database and coordinating changes. Preparing monthly lease payments and analyzing variances. Preparing complex journal entries for lease accounting and internal allocations. Performing related balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, practices, procedures. Effective communication skills, including written and oral English language competency. Detail oriented individual with high degree of accuracy in analyzing contracts, data and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams. A proactive and responsive customer service approach. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while remote. An accounting degree or diploma (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of two years of IFRS 16 (Ind AS116) related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related real estate experience.
Experience with Oracle, CoStar Real Estate Manager, and BlackLine would be considered an asset. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Stantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
