We are looking for a Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Edmonton, Alberta . Position is available as primarily remote, with occasional requirements on site. The ideal candidate will be providing Business Analysis Services on an inflight agile, cloud software development project as well as several projects.

The Business

Analyst is responsible for gaining comprehensive knowledge of a new Educational Platform and related applications, gathering requirements for new functionality, and bridging the gap between the technical team and business stakeholders. Provide business analysis services in support of new educational platform and related applications in an agile environment. Elicit business requirements from business users and subject matter experts.

Gather, analyze, document and validate new and existing business processes. Review business analysts’ deliverables to ensure quality. Lead and conduct user acceptance testing. Lead or assist in the development of business cases and other technical documents as needed.

Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate. Provide stakeholder training. Engage and interact with the technical team.



University degree or two-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution and five (5) years of experience as a business analyst on software development projects OR One-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution and seven (7) years of experience as a business analyst on software development projects.

Experience with agile web-based software development projects. Previous experience leading stakeholder requirements meetings and facilitating agile ceremonies (e.g. story breakdown, backlog refinement, sprint planning) in remote or hybrid work environments. Previous experience using collaboration tools such as Miro (or equivalent) and task management tools such as Azure DevOps (or equivalent).

Previous experience as a business analyst working on large-scale, web-based educational platforms.
