Overview / Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Calgary.

Responsibilities:

- Provide design and technical support for the layout, design and specification of electrical systems for industrial plants and related infrastructure.
- To carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead electrical engineer
- Design and Draft equipment and auxiliary components in 2D and 3D drawing environments
- Assist designers and engineers with drawing coordination reviews
- Establish good working relationships and communicate with designers, area leads, department managers, clients and other team members to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design
- Accountable for the quality of deliverables.
- Perform assignments with limited instruction
- Leading design work groups or project design teams with limited supervision.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff, including assigning work and evaluating technical competence.
- Site visits as required to obtain necessary information
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code CEC
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, applicable codes and standards
- Flexible and able to prioritize workload in conjunction with project needs




- Strong communication skills, professional ethics and ability to take the initiative and display a commitment to contribute to the project

Qualifications

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Design Technology or similar.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant design/drafting experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, S3D, E3D, PDMS, Smart Plant Electrical and/or knowledge of PDS modeling tool
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as robust analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
