The Senior Mine
Engineer reports directly to the Chief Mine Engineer. Act as the Mine Engineering department representative on (or to lead) multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities will include: development of project scope, schedule and budget, performing progress inspections and reporting on variance, ensuring geotechnical, ventilation, and surveying needs are identified and incorporated within projects. Collaborate with mine planning personnel to develop and execute long and short range mine plans. Lead underground mining projects from inception through to completion.
Perform field inspections to assess ground conditions and ventilation controls.
Provide technical support to other mine departments. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers. Potential chance to lead a small technical team.
Bachelor of Science in Mining or Geological Engineering. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in an underground mining environment. A strong understanding of mining rock mechanics, ground control, and mine ventilation.
Previous experience in mine planning. Capable and willing to work underground. Knowledge of Saskatchewan potash mining methods. Proficient using CAD software.
