This is a unique opportunity to apply your backend engineering skills to the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency and new trading products, contributing to our technological growth.

As a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Crypto and Alternative Trading Products at Questrade, you will be a key contributor to our digital asset and alternative offerings. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure for our retail crypto trading platforms and internal administrative tools, helping to expand our crypto capabilities and launch new alternative trading products. Contribute to the expansion of crypto infrastructure across various Questrade products, ensuring seamless integration and high performance.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Efficiency & Automation:



Identify opportunities to automate workflows and optimize system performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of crypto and trading systems.

Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, front-end developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. So are YOU our next Senior Backend Engineer? Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot is desired.

Experience in Angular and React Native is a bonus.

Experience: 5 years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on building scalable and resilient systems.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Go, Python, Node.js ).

Experience designing and building RESTful and WebSocket APIs is desired. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming ( OOP ) and SOLID principles.

Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. GCP, Azure, AWS ) and containerization technologies (e.g., Experience with unit testing frameworks and practices.

Experience designing and building scalable systems with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
