Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Banking Consultant to join our Financial Services practice and support the delivery and operation of enterprise banking solutions for clients across Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of core banking application environments while supporting mission-critical banking operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders, you will manage application environments, support production operations, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and contribute to infrastructure improvements, deployments, and automation initiatives.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation, stability, and optimization of enterprise banking application environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application, batch processing, and infrastructure issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Windows batch scripts, PowerShell automation, and operational processes.
- Build, deploy, and support application releases, configuration updates, and environment upgrades.
- Support automated job scheduling and batch processing using enterprise scheduling tools.
- Perform SQL Server troubleshooting, database refreshes, connectivity validation, and operational diagnostics.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities while ensuring service level commitments are achieved.
- Collaborate with project teams, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable banking solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and support for production issues, launch activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise application environments within complex IT environments.
- Strong experience supporting Windows-based enterprise applications and infrastructure.
- Advanced scripting experience using Windows Batch and PowerShell.
- Experience supporting automated job schedulers such as Control-M, GECS, or similar enterprise scheduling tools.
- Strong SQL Server experience, including query development, troubleshooting, database refreshes, and connectivity diagnostics.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications across application services, batch processes, Windows servers, and database environments.
- Experience supporting multiple application environments, including QA, UAT, Staging, and Production.
- Strong understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes.
- Experience working within SLA-driven managed services and client-facing environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
Assets The following qualifications would be considered assets:
- Experience supporting core banking or financial transaction processing applications.
- Experience with Wealthview Banking, WBDK, Ovation, RFS, or similar core banking platforms.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
- Microsoft Azure experience, including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, and identity management.
- Experience with DevOps practices, release automation, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with application monitoring, log aggregation, SIEM platforms, or IT Operations Management tools.
- Experience improving monitoring, alerting, batch scheduling, automation, and operational documentation.
- Microsoft technical certifications, particularly Microsoft Azure certifications.
Additional Information
- Participation in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime is required.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000-$160,000 CAD. This role is an existing vacancy.
