Hypercoat Downing Ltd. is seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead and manage our shipping and receiving department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, hands-on logistics experience, and a solid understanding of Dangerous Goods regulations, as most of our materials are paints, coatings, and chemicals.

This role oversees a team of 5–6 employees in a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse with three shipping docks, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective handling of all incoming and outgoing goods.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

- Lead a team of 5–6 employees, providing training, direction, and performance management.

- Oversee the packaging, labeling, and documentation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods shipments.

- Ensure compliance with TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), WHMIS, and other applicable safety standards.

- Coordinate shipments with couriers, freight companies, and trucking services, ensuring on-time delivery.

- Manage and optimize use of tow motors, material handling equipment, and dock operations.

- Verify shipping documents, BOLs,



and inventory records for accuracy.

- Collaborate with production, inventory control, and purchasing teams to streamline logistics flow.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements in shipping and receiving efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse supervision, ideally in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.

- Proven leadership and team management experience.

- Strong knowledge of Dangerous Goods handling, labeling, and documentation.

- Familiarity with paint, coating, or chemical materials considered a strong asset.

- Experience with tow motors, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment.

- Understanding of courier and trucking logistics, packaging requirements, and legal shipping documentation.

- Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and safety.

- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
