Job Title: Staff Accountant, Audit and Assurance

Permanent, Full time

Our client, a public accounting firm in Oakville, ON, is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities:

- Work with the Assurance team to complete audits and reviews.
- Complete smaller audits from start to finish.
- Travel to client locations as needed.
- Assist with larger audit engagements and tax assignments.
- Prepare and maintain payroll, government remittances/filings, sales records, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, and payroll transactions.
- Prepare HST returns, financial statements, and personal and corporate tax returns.
- Handle bookkeeping for clients.
- Assist with financial planning documentation.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary accounting education is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting.




- CPA designation or pursuit thereof is required.
- Strong time-management skills and self-motivation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with staff and clients.
- Proficiency with CaseWare , Profile/TaxPrep , MS Office, and QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to build lasting client relationships and contribute to team success.
