Role Description The Staff Pharmacist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, counseling patients on prescriptions and over-the-counter therapies, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Daily tasks include reviewing and interpreting prescriptions, managing medication inventory, performing clinical assessments such as medication reviews, and supporting vaccination and other health services where applicable.
The Staff
Pharmacist collaborates closely with pharmacy assistants and other store team members to maintain efficient workflow, deliver excellent customer service,
and promote safe and effective medication use. The role also involves participating in quality assurance activities and contributing to health promotion and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Licensure as a Pharmacist in good standing with the provincial regulatory body (OCP or equivalent) and eligibility to practice in Ontario.
- Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and patient counseling, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic guidance to diverse patients.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, dispensing technologies, and prescription processing workflows.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy in dispensing, and commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with pharmacy and front-store teams.
- Experience in community pharmacy or retail pharmacy settings; familiarity with Canadian public and private drug plans is an asset.
- Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks in a rapid-paced environment and meet service standards.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD); additional certifications such as injection training and CPR are considered beneficial.
