Role Description The Startup Relations Intern (Unpaid Internship) will support relationship-building and engagement with early-stage startups, founders, and investors in a full-time, remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching promising startups and venture trends, maintaining databases of relevant companies and contacts, and assisting with outreach to potential podcast guests and live event participants.
The intern will help coordinate interviews and live sessions, prepare briefing notes and background research, and support follow-up communication to strengthen ongoing relationships. Additional tasks may involve contributing to written insights,
social media coordination, and collaborating with the team to improve workflows and audience engagement.
Qualifications
- Robust research and analytical abilities, including the capacity to synthesize information on startups, markets, and funding trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear outreach, concise briefing notes, and professional stakeholder interactions.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Comfort with digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, CRM or contact databases, video conferencing platforms, and collaboration tools such as Slack or Notion).
- Genuine interest in startups, venture capital, and media, with curiosity about founder stories and early-stage company building.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with a small, fast-moving team.
- Prior experience in startup ecosystems, community building, or media/communications is beneficial but not required.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to business, economics, communications, media, or a similar field is a plus.
