The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Supply Educational Assistant. As a Supply Educational Assistant (EA), you will work directly with students with special needs and exceptionalities, supporting their unique behavioural and medical needs. Additionally, our Supply EAs earn competitive wages ($28.51/hour), have the opportunity to contribute to an OMERS pension, and also have access to long-term occasional assignments (LTOs). Assist students with hygienic and personal care such as toileting, catheterizing, life skills, etc.
Administer medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations; Carry out training programs such as Individual Education Plan (I.Co-op Education, job training, safety programs, etc., Assist with the supervision of in-school and out-of-school student activities. Assist in the development, implementation and tracking of instructional programs. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and equipment as directed.
Assist with the loading and unloading of school buses or taxis as directed. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also apply. plus two years of specialized training, i.e.,
Educational Assistant Program, Child Youth Worker, Autism Support Worker, Personal Support Worker or equivalent. Requires knowledge of pertinent Board policies and directives such as Physical Intervention, Discipline, Administration of Medication and/or Special Services Requires operating audio-visual and office equipment such as computer, projectors, photocopier, etc.
May also include implementation of Behaviour Management Systems physical intervention strategies. Requires communicating effectively and working cooperatively with students, Board personnel, parents, community agencies and organizations.
