Modern Recruitment

Calgary

If you have recently graduated from a degree or diploma program in supply chain, business, logistics or operations management and are looking for a role where you can do more than just build spreadsheets and reports, this could be a outstanding chance to start your career.

At its core, this is an analyst position, but the scope goes well beyond analysis.

You will have the opportunity to work across inventory, procurement, logistics, distribution and supply chain improvement projects, giving you exposure to how the entire function works within a real operating environment. You will not simply identify problems and hand them off. You will be encouraged to ask questions, make recommendations, get involved in projects and help turn ideas into practical improvements.

Responsibilities

- Analyze inventory, demand, purchasing activity and product movement to identify trends, shortages, excess stock and opportunities for improvement
- Support purchasing and procurement analysis including material requirements, supplier performance, spend, lead times and sourcing opportunities
- Review freight performance including costs, service failures and damage claims
- Build reports, scorecards and dashboards to improve visibility into supply chain performance
- Uncover trends, exceptions and opportunities that may not be immediately obvious
- Ask questions, challenge existing processes and help identify better ways of doing things
- Follow through on recommendations and support the implementation of solutions

What we are looking for

- Recent post-secondary education in supply chain management, business, operations or logistics.

- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data, spreadsheets and reporting
- A good understanding of core supply chain concepts including inventory, purchasing, logistics and materials management
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding why things happen
- Confidence to ask questions and contribute ideas
- A practical mindset and willingness to get involved beyond the analysis itself
- Robust communication skills and the ability to present findings to senior leadership

Previous supply chain experience would certainly be helpful, but it is not essential. We are very open to someone early in their career who can demonstrate strong analytical ability, initiative and a willingness to learn. Exposure to Power BI, Tableau or other reporting tools would be an asset, as would previous experience in manufacturing, distribution or an industrial environment. This is the kind of role that can give someone early in their career a much broader foundation than a traditional entry-level analyst position. You will gain exposure to inventory, procurement, logistics, operations and improvement initiatives while working directly with experienced supply chain leadership. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to see your analysis turn into actual decisions and projects that improve how the business operates.

If you are looking for a role where you can learn quickly, take on responsibility and make a real contribution early in your career, we would like to hear from you. Please apply with a resume in word or PDF format. A cover letter is not required. Apply at www.modernrecruitment.ca
