Reporting to the Industrial Engineer Manager, The Industrial Engineer Technologist is responsible for the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of processes within the manufacturing area of the business as well as being responsible for the input and maintenance of the Engineering and Production data within the ERP (D365) and Leadtec system.
Establish labor standards through methods analysis and time studies and resolve questions relating to job utilization and performance.
Recommend methods for improving workers efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
Restructure job duties, reorganize work flow, relocate work stations / equipment, and purchase and inventory of equipment.
Develop, monitor and improve our manufacturing process ensuring the highest quality and the lowest cost products are produced using best practices such as Lean Manufacturing.
Demonstrate leadership by mentoring production staff and promote knowledge transfer between teams.
Be fully competent in Leadtec shop floor control system and be able to train operators and staff in its use.
Audit engineering project list.
Update the Industrial Engineer meetings file.
Maintain engineering data within the Leadtec system, including operations and style files.
Follow any instructions provided by Industrial Engineering Manager.
Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering.
At least 1 year's experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing workplace.
Apparel manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience in a union environment is an asset.
Hands on experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
Strong capabilities in planning, organizing and process control.
Must be familiar with computers and business software such as MS Office, Excel, CAD, and ERP software.
