Here’s a brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities you’ll have :
- Participate in the identification of network requirements to ensure reliable and secure transport of data, voice and video communications, both in traditional and cloud environments;
- Contribute to the definition of technological orientations in networks and telecommunications in order to ensure their integration into the enterprise architecture;
- Participate in the design and certification of telecommunication solutions and architectures for projects and mandates;
- Collaborate in the development and maintenance of network and service evolution plans;
- Ensure the evolution of telecommunications systems and technologies in accordance with established guidelines;
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and technical teams;
- Maintain documentation of telecommunication assets;
- Conduct a technology watch in networking and telecommunications and assess the impacts related to the introduction of new technologies;
- Provide level 3 support for the infrastructures and services under his/her responsibility;
- Respect the deadlines associated with the assigned mandates;
- Ensure quality, consistency and compliance of telecommunication solutions;
- Deploy and maintain LAN and WAN solutions;
- Collaborate in the analysis of operational reports and the updating of required registers;
- Participate in the changes and production of telecommunication infrastructures and services;
- Implement guiding principles related to the design, deployment and support of telecommunications technologies;
- Comply with standards, constraints and operating rules applicable to the fields of information technology, telecommunications and security;
- Transfer knowledge to designated resources in accordance with established requirements;
- Participate in follow-up meetings and communicate the progress of the work, the issues and possible solutions;
- Carry out any other related activity, study or mandate within his/her expertise;
- Produce technology impact analyses;
- Perform proofs of concept and write technical documentation for configuration;
- Prepare presentations for workshops;
- Develop implementation strategies and test plans;
- Design cost grids;
- Write executive summaries for management;
- Develop solution deployment plans;
- Produce presentations, reports, technical or decision-making documents;
- Provide any required documentation related to the responsibilities and mandates assigned.
The profile you are looking for is as follows:
- Hold an undergraduate degree (BA) in computer science, information systems, software development or an equivalent field;
- Have at least ten (10) years of experience in information technology, including at least five years as a network and telecommunications analysis consultant;
- Demonstrate experience in at least five (5) of the following areas: LAN and WAN networks, network protocols and standards, IP telephony, telecommunications methods and standards, network management in a cloud workplace, ideally Microsoft Azure, IT security, security technologies (firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection systems), ITIL V3 standard, ISO 27001 or equivalent, auditing and monitoring, business continuity;
- Have hands‑on experience in large‑scale network and telecommunications mandates;
- Knowledge of the technological issues associated with cloud computing solutions (an asset);
- Have completed a minimum twelve-month mandate within a government or para‑governmental organization (an asset);
- Cisco CCNP, CCNA, CCIE certification, or equivalent certification from another manufacturer (an asset).
