The Child Development

Advisor (CDA) assists in the development and implementation of coordinated programs of supportive student services by supplying leadership and assistance to staff and students within Rocky View Schools (RVS) within an inclusive framework. The focus includes supporting staff to ensure students experiencing challenges are able to access all aspects of school life and benefit from instruction. Initiates and/or implements appropriate programming for all children with respect to developing a welcoming, respectful,



caring, and safe learning environment Assists in the development, implementation, and reassessment of programs in collaboration with the school administrative team and school staff, to influence behavioural change, improvement of self-concept, and development of social skills in individual students or an entire class Assists individual teachers in the collection of data on individuals or groups of students for program planning Liaises with parents and refers them to community and social service agencies with direction from school administrators Certificate or Diploma in social work, psychology, child and youth care, or a related field ~ Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is considered an asset ~1-3 years supporting youth in an inclusive education setting is considered an asset Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications 6% vacation pay ~ As this is a temporary position there is no employer paid sick time, pension, or benefits ~ Career development and training opportunities The successful candidate must submita current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
