Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients across various specialties, including obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and safety standards are met at all times.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide preliminary findings for diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety procedures to protect both patients and staff during all procedures.
- Stay current with technological advancements in ultrasound imaging and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential from an accredited organization.
- Proven experience performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures with proficiency across multiple specialties preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document findings and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care and support during procedures.
- Ability to operate complex ultrasound equipment safely and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings or weekends if required by the department schedule.
