About the Role The Underwriter, Commercial Lines will underwrite and price new business applications, endorsements and renewals of low complexity on small commercial packages and business policies within a set binding authority to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio.

- Maintain in-force policies and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates
- Make risk selection decisions for renewals and endorsements and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules and certifications
- Manage and achieve excellent working relationship with brokers
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering telephone inquiries, making outgoing calls,



respond to emails and/or faxes as may be required
- Work collaboratively to support broker, claims, pricing and accounting inquires
- Track and produce daily, weekly and monthly production activity reports
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements

- 1 - 3 years of experience in underwriting commercial package policies
- Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or currently holds or working towards CIP is required
- Able to effectively set priorities to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish professional relationships
