We are looking for a reliable, experienced horse person to join us for weekend barn chores every Saturday and Sunday at our private stable, located approximately 15 minutes from Brantford and Ancaster.
We have approximately 12–16 horses, and are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and takes pride in keeping a barn clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Duties include
- Feeding and preparing feeds
- Turning horses out
- Blanketing as needed
- Delivering hay
- Checking and filling waters
- Sweeping and keeping the barn clean and tidy
- Mucking paddocks
- Scrubbing stalls as needed
- General barn chores and horse care
Regular stall mucking is completed by another team member.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working with horses is required
- Must be confident and comfortable handling horses
- General knowledge of horse health and safety is an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Able and willing to work independently
- Dependable and able to consistently commit to weekend mornings
- Reliable, independent transportation is required
Schedule:
Every Saturday & Sunday
Start time is 7:30 a.m. at the latest.
Approximately 4–7 hours per day are available, depending on your experience, abilities, and availability.
Chores and tasks are clearly outlined so you know what needs to be completed each shift.
We're looking for someone dependable who genuinely enjoys working around horses and is comfortable taking responsibility for the barn while working independently.
