2nd-3rd Year Hvac / Refrigeration Service Technician

Urban Mechanical Ltd. is a growing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and controls company serving Calgary and the surrounding area. We are looking for a motivated HVAC / Refrigeration Apprentice or Service Technician to join our service team.

We are looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working in the field, and developing their skills across a variety of commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Applicants with apprentice-level experience as well as experienced service technicians are encouraged to apply.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will assist with and perform service, diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations on commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working with customers and other members of our service team.

Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Work on RTUs, MUAs, air conditioners, fan coils, walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in equipment, ice machines, and other commercial mechanical equipment
- Assist with equipment installations and replacements
- Diagnose equipment issues and recommend repairs
- Complete accurate service reports and document findings
- Communicate professionally with customers, building operators, and site staff
- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and work area
- Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices
- Participate in the on-call rotation when required

Qualifications





- HVAC / Refrigeration apprenticeship or relevant service experience
- 2nd or 3rd Year Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprentices encouraged to apply
- Commercial HVAC or refrigeration experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Willingness to learn and continue developing technical skills
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Basic hand tools required
- Gas ticket is an asset
- Controls experience is an asset
- Plumbing or hydronic experience is an asset

Schedule

- Monday to Friday
- Full time
- On-call rotation as required
- Overtime available when required
