KRM is looking for a qualified, dependable, Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team!
What you'll do:
The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the company's fleet of trucks, trailers, concrete manufacturing plants, screening equipment, reclaimers, support vehicles and other heavy equipment. This role helps ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support daily operations while minimizing downtime. The Heavy Duty Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, responds to breakdowns, and maintains accurate service records in accordance with company standards and applicable safety regulations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain ready-mix trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and support vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing, and safety inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and engine-related issues.
- Complete repairs efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Ensure fleet compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prioritize repairs and schedule maintenance.
- Order and manage parts and shop supplies as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate shop equipment and tools safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
- Follow all company safety policies, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with equipment modifications, installations, and fleet improvement initiatives.
- Schedule off-site repairs and inspections as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification or equivalent preferred.
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks, construction equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Valid driver's licence; Class 1 or Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and welding is an asset.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and commercial vehicle inspections.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
