We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join an organization in Chilliwack, British Columbia on a Contract position. This role will take ownership of core accounting activities, support leadership with reliable financial insight, and help keep reporting, controls, and forecasting on track. The successful candidate will work closely with the President and internal accounting staff in a hands-on workplace that values sound judgement, accuracy, and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review month-end activities, including journal entries, general ledger analysis, and account reconciliations to support accurate financial results.
- Develop and maintain detailed Excel-based reports and schedules used for financial reporting, planning, and decision-making.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities by translating financial data into clear insights for leadership.
- Complete bank reporting and cash-related reconciliations while helping monitor liquidity and financial accuracy across accounts.
- Strengthen financial controls and recommend process improvements that support both compliance and operational flexibility.
- Coordinate audit support by assembling documentation for internal and external review and assisting with follow-up requirements.
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations and other applicable regulatory reporting requirements.
- Act as a key finance contact for banking matters and other external financial relationships as needed.
- Work through existing systems and accounting processes, including Great Plains, to resolve issues and maintain continuity in reporting operations.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a senior-level role and working towards Accounting designation.




- Strong background in month-end close, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement support.
- Demonstrated experience with account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to build reports, organize data, and analyze financial information.
- Hands-on experience using Great Plains in an accounting environment with solid attention to detail.
- Proven ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow-related reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
